Transfer Credit

Palm Beach Atlantic is eager to talk with students who have attended other regionally accredited institutions to consider what amount of successfully completed coursework can be applied to a PBA degree.

The number of transfer credits permitted depends upon the standing of the institution(s) attended, the nature of the courses taken, and the grades earned. PBA’s policy is to accept transfer credit when the grades earned are higher than a “C-”, though an exception to this policy provided for in The Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida Community College Articulation Agreement Manual). The university can accept only credits from institutions with accreditation recognized by the Department of Education for transfer.

Any student who has completed an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida community college is guaranteed:

  1. Junior standing with the application of a minimum of 60 credit hours toward the baccalaureate degree
  2. Recognition of completion of the General Education requirements, excluding the Biblical Studies component and Freedom in American Society course that are distinctive to Palm Beach Atlantic University.

The best way to understand how transfer credits can get you closer to completing your PBA degree is to contact your admissions counselor.
