At PBA, we understand students like you who may or may not purse a vocational ministry position, yet strongly desire an advanced theological education to further your personal interests to become a brighter you.

If you are looking for a fast, affordable and accredited theological degree, Palm Beach Atlantic’s program offered through the School of Ministry can teach you to apply the exegetical or explanatory method to the interpretation of biblical texts, giving you confidence to respond to life challenges scripturally and analytically.

Our program delivers specific benefits such as:

  • An accelerated program where you earn 36 graduate credits that can be completed in two years or longer by adjusting the pace to your work/life situation (Click here for a complete degree plan***).
  • The option to concentrate your study in an area of special interest as the thesis option to complete the degree requirements.
  • A comprehensive examination option (in lieu of a thesis) to document your theological knowledge.
  • Flexibility to customize your learning beyond the required courses by choosing from additional ministry courses, language courses, apprenticeship, research and writing, winter or summer term studies to complete the degree.
  • Focus on advanced-level coursework that builds on your solid undergraduate preparation in theology and ministry without introductory or survey courses.
  • Learning alongside serious theology students who bring their ministry and life experiences into the classroom.
  • Two program entry points -- fall (August) and spring (January) with application deadlines of August 1 and December 1

Master of Arts in Christian Studies Admission Requirements*:

  1. Earn a baccalaureate degree in Christian Ministry/Biblical Studies/Christian Studies from a regionally accredited institution or a baccalaureate degree in another major with successful completion of 15 hours of specified, pre-requisite coursework on the undergraduate or graduate level.
  2. Achieve cumulative undergraduate minimum GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale
  3. Submit:
  • A completed online application*** and $45 nonrefundable fee (Click on the drop-down arrow to select the Graduate application)           
  • Official transcript from college/university where bachelor’s degree was conferred and from college/university where prerequisite courses were taken
  • Two specific confidential recommendations (academic and ministerial)
  • Two specific writing samples (requirements will be provided)
  • Informed consent form

     4.   Faculty interview – Once candidates submit all required documents, the complete application is reviewed by the Graduate Admissions Committee to determine invitations for an interview.

* International students should inquire about additional admission requirements.

Admissions decision and notification:

Applicants will be notified in writing of the Graduate Admissions Committee’s decision within two weeks after completing the interview. To secure a spot in the program, accepted students must, no later than 30 days before classes begin, submit:

  • A non-refundable $100 deposit, which is applied to tuition upon enrollment


The estimated tuition for the entire Master of Arts in Christian Studies is $21,040*. This includes tuition for 36 credit hours ($560/credit) and the Resource Fee ($220/semester). This is based on the two-year, full-time accelerated degree plan.

Financial Aid

Palm Beach Atlantic makes every effort to offer financial assistance through a variety of programs (federal and institutional) to deserving students. Primary funding for graduate study is provided on the basis of demonstrated financial need in the form of work study awards and student loans. Students must apply for financial aid each year by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
