Wordship Walk

Time: 8:30 a.m.

Dates: Feb. 10, March 10, Apr. 14

The Wordship Walk is a communal act that helps lay a foundation for dialogue and diversity. What might this monthly wordship walk accomplish and why do we walk together?

  1. We walk together as a sign of solidarity to help carry the pain of the voiceless and marginalized.
  2. We walk to give praise to our Creator, the One who hears our cries and calls us to Himself.
  3. We walk as embodied prayers with the intention of creating space for dialogue, to express concerns, confusion, upset, or angst by allowing our bodies to move into action.
  4. We walk to share our stories, our prayers, and our concerns about the state of our world, our institutions, our families, our lives.

This monthly Wednesday morning walk along the intracoastal features both speech and silence in an effort to foster the kind of environment that is conducive to a prayerful relationships within the community. Whether you choose to walk in silence or robust conversation, you are welcome to join us.  Come alone or bring a friend.  The wordship walk is but one opportunity among many to offer safe place for open, honest dialogue.
